Catalyzes the NADH-dependent reduction of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to 5-methyltetrahydrofolate. Is required to provide the methyl group necessary for methionine synthetase to convert homocysteine to methionine; the methyl group is given by 5-methyltetrahydrofolate.
