Function

function

Required for mesendoderm differentiation (By similarity).
Interacts with glucose transporters and promotes glucose uptake (PubMed:35810171).
Probably augments the glucose uptake capacity of glucose transporter proteins to meet the energy needs of mesendoderm differentiation (By similarity).

Caution

This was previously named TMEM55 and corresponded to a 130-residue protein. However, recent evidence suggests that the wrong ORF was originally chosen for this protein and supports an upstream ORF coding for a 63-residue protein.

Interaction

Subunit

Interacts with glucose transporters SLC2A1/GLUT1 and SLC2A3/GLUT3; the interactions may promote SLC2A1- and SLC2A3-mediated glucose transport to meet the energy needs of mesendoderm differentiation.
