Function

function

Catalyzes the ATP-dependent translocation of sphingoid long-chain bases (LCBs) from the cytoplasmic site toward the extracytoplasmic side of the membrane (flip-flop). Involved in the establishment of the functional lipid asymmetry of the plasma membrane. Regulates intracellular levels of LCBs, sphingolipid precursors that are growth inhibitory at increased levels.
