Function
function
Casein kinases are operationally defined by their preferential utilization of acidic proteins such as caseins as substrates. It can phosphorylate a large number of proteins. Participates in Wnt signaling. May play a role in segregating chromosomes during mitosis. May play a role in keratin cytoskeleton disassembly (By similarity) (PubMed:9022677).
Phosphorylates protein custos (PubMed:25157132).
Phosphorylates protein custos (PubMed:25157132).
Catalytic activity
- L-seryl-[protein] + ATP = O-phospho-L-seryl-[protein] + ADP + H+
