Expression
Tissue specificity
In the embryo, widely expressed, with highest levels in the developing brain and spinal cord. In the adult, mostly found in the brain, where it is diffusely expressed with the exception of an enrichment in layer IV of the neocortex. Also found in kidney, lung, heart, adrenal, skin, and placenta. Low levels in spleen, muscle, liver, anterior pituitary, testis and ovary.
