Function
function
Virulence factor that suppresses host Toll-like receptor 2 (TLR2)-mediated NF-kappa-B signaling upon infection (PubMed:24481289, PubMed:28060920).
NAD+ hydrolase (NADase) that catalyzes cleavage of NAD+ into ADP-D-ribose (ADPR) and nicotinamide (PubMed:29395922).
Also able to hydrolyze NADP+, but not other NAD+-related molecules (PubMed:29395922).
Able to reduce NAD+ levels in host cells (PubMed:29395922).

Catalytic activity
- NAD+ + H2O = ADP-D-ribose + nicotinamide + H+This reaction proceeds in the forward direction.
- NADP+ + H2O = ADP-D-ribose 2'-phosphate + nicotinamide + H+This reaction proceeds in the forward direction.
