P0CZ01 · HYLB_CUTAK
- ProteinHyaluronate lyase HylB
- GenehylB
- StatusUniProtKB reviewed (Swiss-Prot)
- Amino acids813 (go to sequence)
- Protein existenceInferred from homology
- Annotation score3/5
Function
function
Degrades hyaluronic acid (HA) exclusively into HA disaccharides (HA-2). Produced HA-2s confer anti-inflammatory properties leading to reduced immunopathology in the mouse model of acne.
Catalytic activity
- [hyaluronan](n) = n 3-(4-deoxy-beta-D-gluc-4-enuronosyl)-N-acetyl-D-glucosamine + H2O
