Function
function
Proline-directed serine/threonine-protein kinase involved in a signal transduction pathway that is activated by changes in the osmolarity of the extracellular environment. Controls osmotic regulation of transcription of target genes. Also involved in the response to UV radiation and mediates the sensitivity to fludioxonil, an agricultural fungicide.
Catalytic activity
- ATP + L-seryl-[protein] = ADP + H+ + O-phospho-L-seryl-[protein]This reaction proceeds in the forward direction.
Cofactor
Activity regulation
Activated by tyrosine and threonine phosphorylation.
