the above results indicate that miR378* alleviates ERS and inhibits the activation of the ERS-mediated apoptosis signaling pathway in cardiomyocytes via regulating calumenin expression thereby reducing cardiomyocyte apoptosis after doxorubicin-induced injury
Study suggests another cardioprotective effect of the antiarrhythmic agent ibutilide whereby pretreatment leads to the attenuation of endoplasmic reticulum stress induced apoptosis by regulating calumenin expression. This study provides further evidence for the role of calumenin in the cardiomyocyte endoplasmic reticulum stress response.
Data suggest that calumenin interacts with SERCA2 in the cardiac sarcoplasmic reticulum and may play an important role in the regulation of Ca2+ uptake during excitation-contraction coupling.
