B2AF75 · B2AF75_PODAN

Function

function

Involved in degradation of plant cell walls. Hydrolyzes the feruloyl-arabinose ester bond in arabinoxylans, and the feruloyl-galactose ester bond in pectin. Active against paranitrophenyl-acetate, methyl ferulate and wheat arabinoxylan.

Catalytic activity

  • feruloyl-polysaccharide + H2O = ferulate + polysaccharide.
    EC:3.1.1.73 (UniProtKB | ENZYME | Rhea)
