Catalytic component of the DNA-directed RNA polymerase (RNAP) that catalyzes the transcription in the cytoplasm of viral DNA into RNA using the four ribonucleoside triphosphates as substrates (By similarity).
Forms the polymerase active center together with RPB1 (By similarity).
