Function

function

Catalyzes the phosphorylation of the position 2 hydroxy group of 4-diphosphocytidyl-2C-methyl-D-erythritol.
Specifically dimethylates two adjacent adenosines (A1518 and A1519) in the loop of a conserved hairpin near the 3'-end of 16S rRNA in the 30S particle. May play a critical role in biogenesis of 30S subunits.

Caution

The sequence shown here is derived from an EMBL/GenBank/DDBJ whole genome shotgun (WGS) entry which is preliminary data.

Catalytic activity

Pathway

Isoprenoid biosynthesis; isopentenyl diphosphate biosynthesis via DXP pathway; isopentenyl diphosphate from 1-deoxy-D-xylulose 5-phosphate: step 3/6.
