Function

function

Sorting nexin, involved in the separation or division of vacuoles throughout the entire life cycle of the cells (By similarity).
Involved in retrieval of late-Golgi SNAREs from post-Golgi endosomes to the trans-Golgi network, for cytoplasm to vacuole transport (Cvt), and autophagy of large cargos including mitophagy, pexophagy and glycophagy (PubMed:35835849).
Required for the switch to necrotrophic growth (PubMed:35835849).

Expression

Induction

Induced during nitrogen starvation (at protein level).

Interaction

Subunit

Interacts with the mitochondrial prohibitin complex subunits PHB1 and PHB2; the interaction is direct and plays a role in mitophagy.

Family & Domains

Features

Showing features for domain.

TypeIDPosition(s)Description
Domain58-180PX

Domain

The PX domain binds phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate which is necessary for peripheral membrane localization to the perivacuolar punctate structures.

Sequence similarities

Belongs to the sorting nexin family.
