Function

function

Part of ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transport system ScaABC involved in manganese import. Essential for growth under Mn2+-limiting conditions (PubMed:9440518).
Also acts as an adhesin which is involved on adherence to extracellular matrix. It is an important factor in pathogenesis and infection (PubMed:7927711).
