A1X8C3 · CA17_CONLE

Function

function

Alpha-conotoxins act on postsynaptic membranes, they bind to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) and thus inhibit them (By similarity).
Has possibly a distinct nAChR binding mode from other alpha-conotoxins, due to a different three residue motif (lacks the Ser-Xaa-Pro motif) (By similarity).

Caution

There is a discrepancy in nomenclature: was submitted as Lp1.8 but is named Lp1.7 in PubMed:17400270.
